Non-Surgical Face Lift
At the Ultimate Body Contour and Cosmetic Clinic, we are able to offer our patients RF treatment with elos technology. The system provides a non-surgical face lift and is designed for skin tightening and is able to be applied to most areas of the face and the body.
We can offer RF treatment as a stand-alone procedure designed for skin tightening in areas such as on the face, neck, abdomen, arms and legs.
We can also offer RF as an adjunct to the Ultrashape treatment to maximise the results in the treatment area and to address areas of skin laxity not suitable for Ultrashape.
Radiofrequency (RF) treatment refers to the controlled application of RF energy, a form of electromagnetic energy, to the surface of the skin.
RF energy has been used safely for many years in surgery but only recently in dermatology and cosmetic medicine.
The application of RF energy causes bulk heating of the lower layers of the skin without causing any damage to the upper layer, or external surface, of the skin. Clinical research has shown that bulk heating of the connective tissue in the lower layers of the skin causes the skin to tighten.
Non-surgical skin tightening is achieved by the effect of heat on the collagen fibres which causes them to lose their long fibre structure and shrink into a more compact form. This causes an increased tension within the skin which achieves the effect of tightening. Depending on the area treated, a visible akin tightening effect may be noted with the first few treatments. In addition, the heating results in the stimulation of new collagen production by the body’s own collagen producing cells. This effect is not clinically noticeable before about 8 weeks.
We recommended that a course of 6 sessions performed weekly is the minimum number of treatment sessions that is required.
Following the initial course of treatment, it is recommended that skin tightening maintenance treatments be given every 3 to 6 months (and sometimes every 12 months) depending on the longevity of the patient’s response
